Is it worth it? Has anyone had any experiences with this?
I have most of our Disney movies on VHS and I would like to get them on DVD so I thought this might be a good thing to do.

Hi Sharon!
Here's the deal - yes, it's worth it. We've been members for a few years. As has my SIL who does the same thing I did. Your initial entrance into the club you get around 4 or 5 videos dirt cheap - fantastic deal. With a commitment to buy I think it's 3 or 4 more later throughout the year (at full price - keep this in mind.) Buy those quickly and your commitment is up and you get upgraded to VIP status.
Now, I no longer buy videos through the Club now because there prices are higher than what I get here at the site. Usually, MUCH higher. I occassionally get something special or use one of the sales. Their monthly mailings to you have some neat VIP gifts and stickers for the kids, which is why I don't cancel it.
So, yes, it's worth it! Not for long term though - just through your obligation and then for special things.
I agree that it is worth it until you fulfill your committment. Once that is done, it is no longer worth it. Videos cost between $24 and $29 plus shipping. You can get the same videos much cheaper through our site on Amazon.
That being said, you do get such a wonderful deal when you join that the cost works out. They also carry a lot of videos you can't find easily elsewhere.
One thing you usually won't see though are new movies, so also keep that in mind.
I cancelled my membership about a year ago after haning onto it for about 3 years. I loved the little VIP things, but kept forgetting to say no to the new DVD. I had to quit. lol

It's much easier with the online decline options now. They do still have some other fantastic deals from time to time that ARE worth it - real bargains. I can't cancel it because of those, but still I do most of my shopping here through the site.

Back at ya Sharon!!!
We're doing the same thing too - converting all the VHS stuff to DVD...one thing to NOT like about technology!!!
If there's any specific characters you'd like me to look at pricing for you, I'm happy to do that any time!!!
Actually I think you get credits for referring people too - you can refer others in here as well (just get their personal e-mail and okay to do so) and you'll get movie credits!

Thanks Shawna. I'm thinking over a cost effective strategy.
