I just got back from Downtown Disney and shopping in the hotels. No Handy Manny anywhere in sight. Surprisingly enough, the people working there didn't even know what I was talking about.

Maybe they are waiting to see if Handy Manny is going to catch on some more before they put out tons of merchandise.

I have been looking for Handy Manny merchandise since October. I can't wait til they put it out. My little boy loves Handy Manny.
We were also just there, and looked all over for merchandise. Why oh why does Disney do this to us! Fortunately for us, Alex can pretend to be Handy Manny with ANY tools. lol He is also now into Bob the Builder. lol

Jonathan LOVES Bob the Builder. We bought him Bob the Builder Live on DVD and it's been in heavy rotation for about a year or so. lol!

Gosh, obviously it's been awhile since I watched Playhouse Disney -- :hehe:
Bob the Builder isn't playhouse Disney - what is he on, anyway? Alex loves him too! He has been watching his one video over and over since he can only watch Handy Manny when we are not using the tv.
I do have it on good authority that Santa is bringing him another Bob the Builder DVD for Christmas. Handy Manny lost out because Disney is so slow getting merchandise out.

Isn't Bob the Builder on PBS? I'm not sure anymore. Whenever J wants to watch it he justs puts in a dvd.

Yup, Bob is PBS. Although I don't think I've seen the show for a while on the programming list.
Had a friend with a 3 year old girl who loved Bob the Builder. One day she was walking around with just her diaper and a toolbelt on - we asked what she was doing - she said she's "naked Bob the Builder" - lol....
lol Thanks for letting me know. I will have to look for it.
Silly Santa brought Alex a Bob the Builder DVD. It was only 1 episode and 30 minutes. Oops!

Last year at Christmas we was looking for Doodebop items at the Disney stores. When I asked an employee they said it takes over a year before products are released for a new tv show. I can remember when Rolie Polie Olie was that way about four year ago also. And it has been a year and you still can't get Doodlebops products through Disney stores or web sites.

The only difference is at least Bear in the Big Blue house, the wiggles, stanley, and other playhouse disney stuff was available in California Adventure not long after the shows came out. Now, the playhouse disney items are nowhere to be found.

Disappointing! So they'll put out stuff that isn't working well and falls apart, but for the shows for small children that need to be child safe, there's nothing! Disney - get your act together on this!!!
Sharon, they do have the playhouse Disney toys at Engineer Toys now. I know they used to be at the store across from Playhouse Disney but they were moved last year.
Still no Handy Manny though - and Alex has fallen in love with Bob the Builder, who does have merchandise. That is Disney's fault. If they would have had merchandise, Alex would have it all, where instead he is getting into Bob the Builder.

Maybe if they lose enough revenue and see PBS sales climbing there, they'll get the hint...
No kidding. It really is amazing how dense their marketing people can be sometimes. They Know how many children watch Playhouse Disney, yet they don't seem to care about making the kids happy.

Seriously - I know they'd paid well, and totally incredibly capable people are hired - the quality of work everywhere is just going down, but I didn't expect it from Disney like this.
Me too, I simply don't understand them!

Why can't people like us have those jobs? You KNOW how much money we'd make for them???

My nephew LOVES Handy Manny and I've been searching for anything with it. Any updates on products or still a no show?

Well, when we were at DL just a couple weeks ago, I made a search - specifically for Alex because that's his favorite. Nothing....
Awww, thanks Shawna for thinking of Alex!
Maybe by May they will have stuff. But let me tell you, he knows he is getting money to spend at Disneyland, and his shopping list is getting huge. Our little boy is going to have to learn a valuable lesson. Which item is more important, because he can't afford them all!

That's good though! Plus he'll have ideas for the next time - lol..

Hi --
I just read that you were looking for handy manny items -- there isn't much out there you're right. But you can personalize things at disney shopping.com and I believe I saw a handy manny t-shirt. How cool would you be if you bought your kid a t-shirt with handy manny AND his name on it!
I was on their getting some things for my nieces and nephews...and they think i'm the coolest now! Check it out.
TinkTink - thanks for letting us know!

Well, that's a nice addition but they still are missing the mark big time by not providing items/toys for purchase. Not many of my nephews are as into clothes as my nieces and not at that age. It's cool but not something I would get for a gift for the age group who love that show. Disney - are you listening??? Please - come talk to us!!!
No kidding Shawna - Alex would just about kill for some Handy Manny toys! Christmas is only 9 months away - we can hope for some by then!
Disney5

Oh I knew, I'd kill for the toys - I would really prefer purchasing Handy Manny toys from Disney over Bob the Builder toys from the other one...
Well, if Disney doesn't start asking us they're gonna lose my money for all those boys - I'll have to buy more matchbox cars...lol...
I know - Alex wants the Bob the Builder lego set in Downtown Disney. We held off, hoping for a Handy Manny toy or too, but with nothing out there, we know what we will be purchasing next month.
I am sick of Disney putting on these new shows, hooking the kids, and then not doing anything about merchandise. (wow, I don't say bad things about Disney very often, do I???).

No, you have maybe said something like that ONCE in the 2 years I've known you???
They really are seriously missing the mark on this stuff, can't we just get ONE marketing person to read this site or talk to us???
Now I know I have said this before:
Disney doesn't seem to want my opinion, nor do they ask for my advice. Too bad - asking me would help them realize the need! We get more comments about Handy Manny merchanise than anything else from the readers of our website!
