View Full Version : Cruise in 2007?
Well, we may be doing a Disney Cruise in 2007. Our son will be 5 that year. Is that to young for him to enjoy the cruise? I know if we add Disney World it will be okay since he loves Mickey and Minnie.

we are booked for the land and sea cruise in jan 2006, our girls will turn 5 years old on this trip, this is their birthday present. i am so excited, as they are. i am hoping to set up the princess breakfast, i have heard wonderful things about it.
chel, what a perfect gift for your girls. Since that is plural, I am guessing they are twins? How fun this trip will be for you and your family.
I really can't wait to hear all about it!

Tink, about when in 2007? I was talking to my roommate and since hs parents are moving to Florida, well, it'll be a little easier to make trips out there (his mom is refusing to live more than an hour and a 1/2 away from Disney World!) and we're already planning a trip to WDW next year and now we're talking about a cruise in 2007. I would LOVE for both trips to be in Oct because that's my birthday and this year we're going to Disneyland, we're trying to set it up so we're at WDW for '06 birthday and now we're seriously thinking about adding a cruise for my '07 birthday!! Three birtdays in a row spent at Disney would be awesome!! I've wanted to go on a Disney Cruise before they had the boats built but we've never had the money, something would come up, I was on a different "cruise" (a lovely 7 1/2 month western pacific cruise paid for by the good old US Navy).....things like that just kept coming up and we've postponed it for way too long now!! :w00t:
Angels,
If we can swing this trip, I am guessing it will be May/June. As a former travel agent, I know not to cruise in the fall because of hurricanes. I want to caution you about a cruise in October.

Yeah, I heard about hurrican season. The only problem with going earlier is the prices are higher. I guess I could give up my veranda and go with a smaller room for the sunny season......
We have never cruised with Disney, but my hubby and I love to cruise, and usually cruise every Thanksgiving week. Have never had an issue with hurricanes..always best to get the insurance just in case.
We are also thinking about taking Trey on a cruise with us at some point...either Disney, or perhaps Carnival since both have really well-rated kids programming...we will see!
I will look forward to hearing how the 5 year olds enjoyed a cruise...trying to figure out how we would swing it..we have always cruised kidless...
Sue :)
Yep I can't wait either because Alex will be 'almost' 5 when we go. About 4.5 really, but it being 5 is important, we can wait.

When I went on the Disney Cruise, it was during January. This was a great geataway for the NorthEast (Pittsburgh) people. However, I will caution that I was a little nervous about making the cruise, as I was flying out the day of the cruise, and my flight was delayed because of the bad weather. I had missed many of the Port Canivral activities. I would suggest that anyone cruising in the winter plan to be there the night before the cruise, or buy the insurance. Going in Jan can be great as the rates are usually down (besides skiers, who typically vacations in January).
I just got back from my 3rd cruise (non Disney related) though. I was on the Norwegian Wind out of Honolulu, with ports of call Kona, Hilo, Laihaina (Maui), Kauai, and Fanning Island (the Repubic of Kiribati). Really a cool experience, and fun geataway, although I hit a couple little snags (believe it or not, I had a butter knife dropped on my hand while a waiter was clearing a table. It didn't immediately hurt, but did later on). I've recently found cruising and have found it to be very relaxing and quite enjoyable. I would definately recommend the Disney Cruise line to anyone too, as our experience on there was fantastic!!
