I was wondering if anyone has found a site that sells the official Disney trading pins cheaper than on the Disney Store online? I am looking to pick up some <U>official inexpensive pins that my children won't mind trading away. I have looked on ebay but was curious if anyone has found a site that sold maybe cheap grab bags. I hate paying almost $7 for a pin that they really want then watching them trade it away just because they want to trade pins. So I thought I could purchase just a variety of clearanced ones and then they will have some to trade for what they liked. Last year I found Trey trading for the ugliest pins just to keep trading. Although he got a EuroDisney one that I remember seeing, hmm wonder if he still has that one or traded it.

I don't know how accurate my information is, because I haven't gone to a Disney Store in awhile. But I have found pins that were discounted (on clearance or on sale) at the Disney Store. For example, when the 100 Mickeys series was being sold, I found two pins at the Disney Store for like $2 or $3 a piece. But since I haven't been to a Disney Store in awhile, I don't know if they still have sales on pins or not. Sorry if this is no help.

I found a website that sells 25 for $42 but they are a grab bag variety and I am considering this just so they will have some to trade. I really don't care what is on them just really hope they are offical Disney pins. They say they are copyrighted by Disney on the back. Still thinking about this one though before I do it.

That sounds like a good idea Kristi! I was also thinking of letting my girls trade pins on our next trip but I would want them to trade for pins they wanted and give away ones they didn't so I wouldn't care what pins I started out with either.
I wanna know what you decide or where this site is too!!

I have a lot of Disney Trading pins that are all Pooh and pals. Just want to share with you guys if you don't know this already, that the "rare" pins are the ones with Mickey's head hidden within the picture. They are the casting pins so you can't buy them in the stores. If your kids gets one of those, keep them!!

Well, from buying pins from downtown disney I have noticed that on the pin backing (the thing the pin is on that hangs from the hooks) that they sell just about all their pins on <A href="http://www.disneypins.com">www.disneypins.com. I have been there and they have tons of pins and pins that are being released soon. I still have to go to downtown disney to get the newly resleased Will Turner pin. I have the Jack Sparrow one already.

I purchased a set off of ebay tonight. I am getting 20 pins all official and one that is a cast member pin with the hidden mickey for $56 and that's for the shipping too. I think they figure up to $2.80 a pin. Not bad I don't think. I can't wait to show the kids.
That isn't a bad price at all, since at Disneyland most pins are between 6 and 12 dollars each! I would hold on to the cm pin though, and not trade it! (or send it to me, I will take it!)

I got our pins today in the mail. Now I have to find the kid's lanyards with their pins.
So I really like some of the pins and I am thinking about keeping a few especially our hidden Mickey one. It's a piece of the monorail with the mickey on the bottom. On the back it even says it's an official Hidden Mickey trading pin. Then says it's 3 of 8.
We also received a Figment one that looks like he is celebrating and on the back it has a mickey shape with 35 in the middle. Any ideas what this could mean?
Wow Kristi - sounds like you got a nice set of pins.
Mickey with a '35? What does the Mickey look like? If you can describe him, I can probably give you more info!

Figment with the 35 on the back of him inside a mickey head.
Figment looks like he is going to a party, streamers, and hat
Okay - is that a pin from WDW's 35th Anniversary? Sounds like it may be! If so, it is from 1982.

I knew I was smart to keep it from the kids. They so loved getting to take turns picking out a new pin to put on their lanyard, We only had one fight and that was over the Herbie pin. I will let you know how the pin trading goes.
Oh Kristi - one fight isn't bad - great job! And do let me know how the pin trading goes. I still have not done it with Alex, but have given it some thought. As shy as he is, I am not sure he would enjoy it at all - he is even too shy with characters now and they were his best friends 6 months ago!
