So there's another Cinderella sequal coming out. I'm guessing their trying to redeem themselves after the Cinderella 2 disaster, because when I took a look at some of the scenes they released, I was....impressed. It seems like a darker Cinderella in this one. Basically what happens, the Evil stepmother finds that magic wand or something of the sort and she turns back time to undo Cinderella's happily ever after. It seems like they disregard Cinderella 2 in the story.
Even though I don't like alot of Disney sequals, I'm going to check this one out.

<A href="http://movies2.nytimes.com/gst/movies/trailer.html?v_id=376073">http://movies2.nytimes.com/gst/movies/trailer.html?v_id=376073 this has the 8 minute preview at the bottom.
I just want to through this last thought out there. Apparently Walt Disney himself was not a fan of sequals. I find it funny that the company he created and loved with all his being is now a company that creates sequals to make an extra buck.

Because Cinderella is one of my very favorite movies--I pretend Cinderella II doesn't exist! LOL. I was quite intrigued by the preview for the new Cinderella movie and I hope it is done well.
There are a lot of sequels that are not done well and I will NEVER own but some of them are great. Lion King II and 1 1/2 are both great. Toy Story II is better than the first (in my opinion). I liked Bambi II, Mulan II, and my daughter really likes Kronk's New Groove....
Anyway, sometimes it is fun to see the plots they will come up with for sequels on classics that we grew up with but I do agree that they are sometimes poorly made and it seems like it is just for the profit. I don't know...

Thanks Aubrey! Looks interesting. I never saw the second, I usually avoid all sequels. I guess the people involved now don't have the imagination Walt Disney did, otherwise they'd be putting out more things like Lion King and Aladdin. When was the last time they blew our socks off with a great one?!

Your Welcme Shawna:) I too normally don't go and watch the sequals...on purpose that is...I always end up watching it at a friend's house when their lil bros and sis are watching it. I honestly can't think of a REALLY good Disney cartoon sequal. I don't consider Toy Story exactly Disney, it's a Disney/Pixar thing which puts them in a completly different category for me.
The last time I was completly impressed by a cartoon Disney movie was when Mulan came out. That was crazy, CRAZY impressive! I'm still waiting for another classic:)
Apparently they are going to do Rapunzel which should be coming out in 2008-09(?) I hope that's a good one.

Not much on there yet, but I'm not bringing up my expectations for the movie just yet.

I think the dads on this board are the best. I wish my husband would take the time to plan a vacation for us like they do. And all the thought they put into making it perfect for their kids!!! Man, those are guys that the wives had better hold on to!!!

No kidding! It's so nice to see dads that are involved! Lol, I'm a daddy's girl myself and I can tell these dads right now that their kids WILL appreciate all the time and effort they put in! Seriously, I totally loved all the times my dad and I has spent together while growing up! In fact, there were times he did "mom" things for us when my own mother was just too tired to deal with it like styling my hair or whipping up a midnight snack for us:)
And the little things are always so memorable. He would buy me books and things all because it reminded him of me:) He doesn't do it often now because of course I have my own money but he's now showing Celina, Badge and Bran that love:)
Haha, just want to throw this last thing out: I remember when I was about 13, someone forgot to stock up on "womanly products" in our house so my dad actually went out and bought them for us!:D Hahaha....poor guy:hehe:

I loved your post Aubrey! I'm a daddy's girl too. My dad and I used to go out to dinner together once a week before we moved to California this last time. Just us - and it was so fun!!!! He's such a great dad and he's a great grandpa now too - Morgan adores him!!!

Oh and womanly products - Bryan buys them for me regularly. I think a lot of husbands get stuck with that task now!

I just got that DVD today (Saturday, February 10, 2007). I still need to get Cinderella 2. I have the first Cinderella because I got it on my 22nd birthday (December 20, 2005).

Aubrey, no lie your post has me in tears. That is so sweet! Reminds me of my daddy! We've been fighting a lot lately and thinking about stuff like that reminds me of all the times we traveled together and went to cool places. I love him from the bottom of my heart and I know we're both going through tough times right now but I guess I never realized how much we did together. Aww...forgive me I'm quite emotional at the moment. I just agree that it really is a special thing between a father and child.
As for "woman products" he was never the one to get those. He always got the wrong kind. :hehe:

We watched "Cinderella 3" the other day with the boys while they were both sick. It's a really cute movie! Suprised the heck out of me because I usually don't like sequels to the really old classics. I don't think we have "Cinderella 2" come to think about it. This one was really cute though because it was a "what if the slipper didn't fit" story and gave it a whole new twist. Lucifier is an absolute crack-up!
:)
Cinderella 2 came out on DVD years before Cinderella was realeased, so I do have it, but have never watched. I did buy Cinderella 3, but have not yet seen it. It looks good, but it is hard to watch Princess movies with Alex. lol
Mulan is awesome Shawna. I have had that for years, and we finally watched it a few months ago. Andy and I really liked it, much to our surprise.

We own the Disney storybook of Cinderella 2 but I won't buy that movie. The girls really liked Cinderella 3 though so I may have to get it.
Leanne, I LOVE Mulan. It's got some great songs in it! My girls don't choose to watch it as often as I wish!
lol Katie don't you hate that!
So what is the Cinderella 2 story about?
