View Full Version : Things that bother me ....

Watched this yesterday and noticed a few things:-

1) The beast has until his 21st birthday to fall in love, and they have been 'bewitched' for 10 years. So he was cursed when he was only 11? how cruel is that!

2) How old is Chip supposed to be? Less than 10 surely, so did Mrs Pots have him while she was a teapot?

3) Mrs Pot's mentions Chip's brothers & sisters, but only seems to talk to Chip...blatent favouritism!!

4) If the chef turns into an oven, where did the real oven go?

5) If the Beast was cursed only 10 years ago, why doesn't the village know about it? or at least wonder where the Prince went?

These things keep me awake at night!!....

LOL, you guys are too funny!! In the real Beauty and the Beast he was cursed for hundreds of years and when she went to live with him she was there for years.....I don't remember the story to clearly though.

Disney just sped things up! :D

I had wondered about whether he was 11 when he was cursed......would have to be a pretty nasty little boy to get cursed like that!

LOL My sister and I disect movies like this too. Although I haven't really put a lot of thought into a most of the animated films. However, the one thing that bothers me about the Little Mermaid is, when Ursula turns her into a human, she has got to be completely naked. So, the other characters get her on the beach and she's naked in front of all of them. ??? Granted they fashion a garment for her before Prince Eric shows up, but I have always found that part to be... odd. Maybe it's just me, but I have trouble with that. :w00t:

Yeah...then there are the birds who make Cinderella's bed and help her shower...and without washing her hair too. Where are my birds???

And when you mention any of these things someone always says "it's just a film"

Oh and Hunchback..that bit at the begining when she is running with the baby, has anyone ever tried that! It can't be done!

MY Wiggles concert isn't until June, and today my N* son tipped all my coffee out of the jar onto the floor while I was in bed so no caffine for me today !!! ARGGGGHHH! (and no coffee this week as I don't get paid till Friday and we're skint!)

*(N son means the naughty one to distinguish him from my other son, who is 6 months old at at the moment quite well behaved...don't start me on the daughter's though)

OMG! I am laughing so hard right now:D Great questions! Hmm...I'm gonna throw in my thoughts in if that's okay:D1. I kinda thought the Beast was about 17 when he was cursed. That gives him 5 years of being cursed. 5 years before turning 17 was when he learned to be a heartless jerk and eventually no one came to visit him. Thus making the servants not so 'useful' as Lumiere puts it.
2. Chip was probably around 6? Lol. Probably born the year before the curse happens.
3. Chip is the youngest of course:hehe: That and since he was a baby when the curse happened, he probably doesn't know much about being human. So he needs extra attention.
4. I bought the oven and sold it on ebay. I'm thinking the real oven is around, they just don't show it because....it's just an oven......
5. Are you talking about the village Belle is from? Because I don't think Beast was in charge of that part of the country. They were pretty far apart.
The Beast's own village didn't notice because I'm assuming he had no village to look over. He was probably put there just to watch over the land.Ok, those are my thoughts. I'm weird. Very weird.

Okay, we just threw this in yesterday:
Why can the mice in Cinderella talk, but the birds can't?
No idea.
Why didn't the stepmother and stepsisters recognize Cinderella at the ball, it's not like they'd NEVER seen her clean!!!!
I think someone mentioned this sometime before: who set the mousetrap that Gus got caught in?

Disney5
02-16-2007, 08:32 PM
Joanna - mousetrap - good one!!! Cinderella did all the work so it should have been her!!! OMG!!!
And birds throwing water on her to take a shower??? How come the birds don't have names or outfits like the mice???

Thats's completley disrespectful! poor birds! :hehe:

How come the kittens in Aristocats didn't have a strong French accent like their mothers? And how did an American cat (Thomas) get to France??

I assumed 10 years for the curse because of the line "..ten years we've been rusting, needing so much more than dusting..."

Like I say though...I do need to get out more....

I got it from the show's website. I got Mr.McFeely too. :P I had the chance to met Mr.McFelly when I was little. He was at an amusement park out in Liogner, Pa called Idlewild. But, I was too scared to go met him. I regret it now. haha. That park is pretty neat though. It is very old fashion, there is alot of rides you don't see alot anymore. And there was a Mr.Roger's trolley ride.

Wasn't Mr Rogers from Pittsburgh?? I thought they filmed it there.

Yes, Mr. Rogers was from Pitssburgh and I believe you're right that the show was filmed there. My mom's family is from Pittsburgh and my mom attended a class in college that Mr. Rogers instructed. In fact, I was born in Pittsburgh but we moved when I was 3 or 4.

That's really cool tigger! I live about an hour away from Pittsburgh. I really want to just take a good weekend and visit. There's so much to do there!

I have a weird thing with "The Burgh". I think I had a past life there or something. I am drawn to it for some reason. I've been to some of places Mr.Rogers visited on his show. Like the trolley museum and such.

That's how I am with London. It's like this weird connection. Like you've been there all your life...and I never went! Same with the name "Normandy". It sounds weird but everytime I see anything from a street name to a sign that says Normandy I get this very strong sense of sadness and belonging. Strange I know...

We should seek Sylvia Browne.

If she wasn't so darn expensive I'd love to see her one day. Hmmm...there's a psychic near me. She also does manicures, fries chicken, and sells lumber! :hehe:
