OK, want to entice everyone to consider taking a cruise as a vacation one day! :)
To do that....here are some pics from some a cruise I took this past fall on Carnival. We went to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and Nassau, Bahamas.

I am!
What locations have you cruised to? What was your favorite? I definitely want warm, not a big fan of humidity but I can stand that, bugs are a HUGE issue for me!

We have done Eastern, Western, and Southern Caribbean so far...all out of Florida ports (Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando). Eastern/Southern: San Juan, Bahamas, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Martinique, Barbados,
Western: Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Belize
Many of the cruiselines (including Disney) also have private islands in the Bahamas, where you dock and spend the day lounging on the beach or doing beach activities. Fun!
Our favorite is hands down St. Maarten...absolutely beautiful island. We loved it enough to even consider just going there for vacation at some point. Shopping is great in Cozumel...lots of great buys there. St. Thomas is beautiful, but more touristy now.
I have never had a bug issue on any of the islands. We usually cruise in the fall or winter, so it isn't AS warm as it would be in the summer in the Carribean. For example, this past November when we went it was in the mid 80s the whole time with fair humidity (now we live in NC, where it is 99% humidity all summer). I would wear shorts and sleeveless shirts to go on excursions and was usually very comfortable.
Here are some more pics to get you excited...
Sunset leaving Miami (this is my favorite cruise pic EVER, from 2004):

One of the best benefits of a cruise is the "all you can eat"...hubby enjoys EVERY dessert on the menu...EVERY night...haha!

You think that looks bad Leanne...I need to find the pic of him eating FIVE entrees before he even GOT to the desserts! hahahaha...he usually gains about 5-10 lbs on a cruise..of course, he loses it right away...MEN! hehehe

The towel animals are my favorite....there are actually classes you can take onboard, and a book you can buy, to learn to make them for yourself! :)

Thanks everybody!
Has anyone else here ever done a cruise? Disney or not?
I will have to start a new thread on towel animals...they are definitely something associated with Carnival Cruises, but many of the other cruise lines are doing it now too...very fun!
