I just read that Disney is returning to hand drawn animation for their new princess movie, "The Frog Princess". I am very excited by this as I love old fashion animation. Does anyone else have any more info on the new princess?

Wow Cat, no ideas at all, but I've PMd a couple other members who might know something!!! Stay tuned
Cat, it sounds like this may be in the animation building at California Adventure, where you learn to draw a character.
Let me see if I can find out anything about it though.

I heard it will be The Frog Princess story released in 2009. I think it will feauture the old dawing style.
Also, I hear it is a tribute to New Orleans. The story will take place in New Orleans and will star Maddy, Disney's first African American princess!!
I will try to find the articles I read about this and post the link!!

How awesome! I have often dispaired over the lack of an African Princess. It think every girl should have a princess.

This is the yahoo link to the article I saw this morning on it.
Okay Cat - now I understand your question better!
Yes, hand drawn animation is how they did it before the started CGI (computer graphics). This is wonderful, as now we have more lithographs, sericels and more! ;)
With hand drawn animation, everthing is put onto storyboards. Disney has an incredible history with this.
As for the person who will be Maddy, in the Frog Prince, I have not yet heard, but will let you know as soon as I do - or better yet - our movie expert Katie will probably hear first!

I just read in my people's magazine that Anika Noni Rose ( from Dreamgirls and most recently the Starter's Wife) will be the voice of Disney's first black princess in the "The Princess and the Frog"
But that was all the info on the movie nothing else. No date or other co-stars.
