If you want to know nothing about the movie before going then only read the first paragraph. In the second I will tell a little about the movie. In the first I only give my opinion about the 3D effects and my 4 yr old DD and my rating.
Just got back from seeing Meet the Robinsons in 3D and I give it 2 thumbs up. The 3D effects were cool and it is definitly worth seeing in 3D although you do have to pay $2 for the glasses but you get to keep them. I loved the the feel of the depth of the movie, the 3D effect did not just stick to items leaving the screen but gave it 3D depth in the background. I found the movie entertaining and my 4 yr old daughter gave the movie a rating of "Great". She said kids her age would like to see it. Another great reason to see it in 3D is that before the movie you get to see the Donald Duck,Chip and Dale shot "Working for peanuts" in 3D and it is fantastic. The only part that she said scared her a little was: Don't read further if you don't want to hear about the movie.
She said the only part that scared her a little was a scene when the robot that lewis builds in the future is pierced thru the chest by the claw of the hat from the villian. The movie also gets a little dark at the end when the future is changed for the worse. I think it is a great story about getting past your past and moving on toward the future.
Make sure that at the end of the movie you read the quote that comes up on the screen, after you read it the name of who wrote it will apear and one of the important sayings in the movie will make sense.
The Disneyland tribute is very short fly by in the movie but the movie is a dedication to Walt in a way. Go and enjoy this movie.
Also after you are told to put on the glasses you will see a 3D preview of Nightmare Before Christmas which will return to theaters again this October. Beware that at the end of the preview a jack a lantern pops out of the screen and it did startle my DD.
