I just HAVE to share this with you all. On Monday we went to Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California. We took a tour of Keys Ranch, which was developed in the late 1800s by Bill Keys, who was a cattle rancher and gold miner. Among other things. Anyway, in 1960 and 1961, Walt took his film crew out to visit Keys Ranch and he filmed two nature shorts there. Bill Keys acted in both. Bill was in his 80s at the time. Also, there is a truck that still sits on the property that Walt used as well as a shed that Walt built. Touring the ranch was amazing in itself, but it was really cool to find out that Walt filmed two movies there!
If you ever have the chance to go out to Joshua Tree National Park, it's well worth the visit. It's north of Palm Springs and there's an exit for it off the 10 Freeway outside of Indio.

Lol - never heard of those until now Lisa! You are a true Disney person - and unbelievably surrounded by Disney everywhere you go!!!
Thanks for that, we'll have to do that tour someday - strangely Bryan has work in Indio every now and then...

Shawna,
LOL I know! I can't get away from Disney no matter what I do! The funny part was, I was getting a little bored on the tour and then when the Ranger mentioned Walt, my ears perked up and I was like, what? LOL :D
We went with friends to the Palm Springs Air Museum today; saw nothing about Disney. ;) It was very interesting and the kids LOVED the airplanes. Also, I recommend the Children's Discovery Museum for something fun to do with your little one. The admission is really inexpensive and when we went, we spent like 3 hours there. It's so much fun. Just the other day, my son was asking if we could go there again. It's off Bob Hope Dr; there's a sign. I'm sure that they have a website. :D

Lol - out of the blue today I was having a Disney day as well - and then I realized that almost everything we watch is Disney (except Dora of course) and we talk about it constantly. Morgan and I have made up our own Disneyland song too.

LOL That is so cute!! Yah it's amazing how much Disney is in our lives. Being in So Cal is probably a huge part of that, too. BTW, I'm so JEALOUS because my sister is going to DL TOMORROW!! :P ::sigh:: Trying to be patient until our trip in a couple of weeks...

Read Cat's trip report, the old ones also - those are keeping me hanging on. Although I have to admit I was kind of sad when she posted because I know she had to leave...lol...

LOL Yah I hear what you're saying. :D It was so cool watching the Travel Channel over the weekend but it just makes me want to go more. And reading trip reports adds fuel to the fire. :w00t: I'm resisting jumping in the car and driving over there; it would be a long day, I would have to worry about the dogs, I would be too tired to drive back, I can't get a room at this late date... LOL :w00t::P:D:)

Lol, I know and I've become a mad woman with these APs - I've looked at prices for December too and am thinking of a quick Sept. trip. We got GOOD news on taxes and I've earmarked some for Disney...lol...

LOL How awesome! :D Yah it's hard for us to plan too far ahead for trips because we just never know where my hubby will be at any time. But I wouldn't be surprised if we plan some more trips. September is a birthday month in our family so that's always a possibility and so is November. And we usually end up going at least once during the summer. And with my sister moving to San Diego, we may end up at DL more than I think! :D
