I will say I was disappointed with Nassau. When you get off the boat we was attacked by the locals wanting you to buy merchandise. Especially at the market area I just felt out of place.
We was stopped on the street by this guy with a young boy and he was telling us how the children make these black and red braclets and then give them to people for a donation. As we was walking this man put them on our wrist and asked for just a donation for the school. So Troy gave him a couple bucks but the guy said I need 2 more dollars. I started giggling and then it became a joke between us. Needless to say we was scammed but we still have the bracelets and they are special to us

I will agree that Nassau and Jamaica tend to be the worst for street vendors that are REALLY pushy! Interestingly, when we went to Nassau this past fall, they have increased the restrictions on the docks, and we were bombarded MUCH less than we were the time before.
Nevertheless, the Atlantis resort is one of my favorites to tour...but I just LOVE aquariums!

We didn't go there but I want to when the kids get a little older. We did a snorkel at a Stingray Place. There was probably 30 stingrays in this roped off area of the ocean. There was even albino ones. Very neat. And we did a tour of the town in a carriage.

We haven't done the stingrays yet, but that is definitely on our list to do one day...when we went last fall, it was right after Steven Irwin passed away, and well...it just didn't seem like a good idea! Granted, we knew it was a whole different thing, but we still didn't feel right.

I was also disappointed with Nassau. The street vendors, cigar pushers, hair braders were very push. Atlantis was beautiful!

Maybe that is why we always visit Atlantis when we are there...we know we won't get the "street" issues....I think if we go there again, we will get a day pass to Atlantis to be able to gamble and play on the beach!
