What is your favorite animated Disney Movie?
Mine would have to be Aladdin. I love the music for this movie, and the Genie, played by Robin Williams is absolutely incredible.

Mine would have to be The Jungle Book, just absolutely love the music, especially with King Louie (Louie Prima) what a fantastic musician!! I love all the "Classics" but what I call the next set of "Classics", like The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, & The Lion King are all definately worth having in your collection.....its really awesome to see the changes in animation over the years & I look forward to visiting the Disney Animation Area on our trip to Disneyland/DCA later this month

It is so hard to pick...
I think old... Jungle Book hands down.
Newer... Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast and Lion King
New... Lilo and Stitch ( mostly for location and music.. not a huge fan of Lilo's behaviour)

That would have to be The Little Mermaid! I've seen it over 120 times (went through two tapes I watched it so much). I hated the original version of this movie (it did not have a happy ending!), but the Disney version just portrays hope, love, and true friendship. All qualities I find so important in life! However, I adore the song "Outcasts" from Hunchback as well. I sing that to my kids often. I was going to try to pick Ariel for my name on here, but I knew there was an Arielfan already... My 3 yo Daughter's favorite movie is Aladdin. And I agree that Robin Williams was his usual amazing self in this movie!

I would have to say Beauty and the Beast. I watch this movie A LOT!! My best friend bought it for me for my birthday the year it was released on DVD and I've watched it probably about 50 times since then! I know the movie and all the songs by heart. This is what I watch when I'm sad or lonely or bored....it's my "make me happy" movie. I do also love Finding Nemo for Disney/Pixar and for the "old classics" I'm kinda partial to Dumbo (I ALWAYS cry when his momma is rocking him from "jail" and all the other animals are cuddled up with their moms). It just makes me miss my Mom!!

Mine would have to be Lady and the Tramp

Just one??? Yikes! I'll have to say a few for different categories.
Little Mermaid because of the incredible music. Lion Kind for humor (I still crack up with the Dress in Drag and Do the Hula line.) Sleeping Beauty because it's such a wonderful story and if you're a girl you've GOT to love princesses. Then there's the Lady and the Tramp and 101 Dalmations - love anything with dogs, but I have trouble watching them because of bad things that MIGHT happen to them even though I know the endings...(how old am I???)

Oh duh on me -- I answered this on another thread.
My favourite Disney animated films are "Sleeping Beauty" and "Nightmare Before Christmas". I think NBC wasn't originally a Disney film, right? But it's still up there with me.

Maybe not original but I count it!!!
No NBC isn't a Disney Movie. It is a Tim Burton movie, and Disney now has some rights to it, hence the holiday makeover of Haunted Mansion.

Tim Burton was way ahead of his time when he came out with that one. I was always curious how DL got it added to the ride and then the store.

Hi everybody!
I've never posted here, but am a regular on the Wiggles board.
My favorite is Sleeping Beauty. You can't beat the classics. I might get in trouble here, but I think everything made after The Lion King isn't even worth wasting your time. And while it's not one of the early ones, I really enjoy Rescuers Down Under. Just my 2 ? :)

Reese - while I do love some of the newer ones, particularly Aladdin and Cars, but I do agree - the classics are amazing. And Alex is currently in love with Alice in Wonderland. lol The freakiest of the classics!

Has everyone forgotten about Cinderella?! That was my very favorite as a child (I used to act out the entire movie)and it is also my favorite princess movie. My kids love it too. The music and characters are so cute and Makenna loves it when I sing "A dream is a wish your heart makes" at bedtime.
The newer ones are all amazing. I love Lion King, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin! My girls usually choose Beauty and the Beast or Aladdin out of those ones.
After those movies, Mulan was my favorite as a teenager. I even wrote a paper on it and its message for young girls.
As far as sequels go, I LOVED Lion King 2 and thought it was as good as the first and I thought Lion King 1 1/2 was hilarious. I also prefer Toy Story 2 over part 1 (I didn't like all of the contention between Buzz and Woody in the first one)
All of the Pixar movies are amazing. There isn't one I haven't loved but I really love Monster's, Bug's Life, and Incredibles. Cars is becoming a fast favorite too.

There's a NEW NBC in 3-D, is that it? Same movie - it's a Tim Burton but Disney bought the rights to it, so it's ours now!!!

Man that is hard, maybe Little Mermaid, or Nemo, or Cars, or oh I just about love them all.
lol Katie - I also really like Cinderella.
As for the Pixar movies - Bugs Life is my least favorite. The rest are all total hits with me.
But can you tell me why Alex thinks Mr. Incredible is Superman (or is it Spiderman)? For one thing he has never seen either of those movies, so I have no clue how he knows about them (school is my guess), but how can he see him as one of them? lol
And Zara - I have never seen Sword in the Stone - is it that wonderful?

Tink-Sword in the Stone is really cute. I loved watching it when I was a kid. I would love to find a copy for my girls to watch...
What didn't you like about Bug's Life, Tink? I though it was so fun and original when it came out. The girls watched it a ton before we went to Disneyland too so they LOVED a Bug's Land in CA.
Oh, I also love Pete's Dragon. I was obsessed with that movie when I was about 5...my girls haven't seen it yet. I wonder how they would react to it.

Yes, the dragon is Elliot.
Katie - it isn't that I didn't like it - I just like the other ones better. lol
I do have Sword in the Stone - guess I will have to watch it.
And.....I may have it on VHS - if I do and can find it, do you want it?

Are you serious Leanne? I would love a copy of Sword in the Stone! Half of my Disney movies are on VHS but we have a TV/VCR that the kids watch most of their movies on so a VHS copy would be great!
Give me a PM if you find it and let me know how much for the movie and shipping. I may just send you money for the Fantasmic DVD at the same time. Thanks a bunch!!!

Katie - check if there's anything else you need, Leanne still has a few VHS tapes to sell!!!

01-08-2007, 06:15 PM
Thanks Shawna. I really don't mind VHS tapes. DVD's seem much more fragile and my girls handle VHS tapes better than DVD's.
Tink--do you have a list you can send me?
Disney5
01-08-2007, 07:29 PM
You aren't kidding, kids are murder on DVD's!!!
I've sent her a note to get back to you ASAP!
Katie-
I am soooo sorry, I either sold it at a garage sale, or can't find it. I did find others though and here is the list:
VHS:
Aladdin
The Return of Jafar
Aladdin and the King of Thieves
Mary Poppins
Fantasia
The Fox and the Hound
Snow White
Beauty and the Beast, the Enchanted Christmas
I also have a sealed VHS copy of The Black Cauldron
DVD:
The Rescuers Down Under (sealed)
If you or anyone else wants one of these, let me know.
I can tell you that aside from Aladdin, IF these were watched, they were only watched once. Beauty and the Beast, the Enchanted Christmas is open, but has NEVER been watched.

Okay, so I just looked since Leanne doesn't have it and I have a VHS of the Sword in the Stone that's never been watched but is unwrapped. We're trying to now replace everything in DVD form... Since we've never watched it, if you want it, that's okay with me.
Yay Shawna - I am so glad you have a copy for Katie. I was so bummed to find mine gone.

Lol - we have all of them still on VHS! I wish Disney would give us a credit for returning a VHS and purchasing a DVD...
I have already sold most of my VHS copies. The ones I still have that are not listed here are items that have not yet come out in DVD format.

You know Leanne, if they are ones that you can live without temporarily, you can make some serious money on Ebay!!!
I actually checked ebay to see if they are worth money. Only one is worth more than a few dollars, so I will just wait until the DVD's come out.
