Not just here but everywhere online. Do not use personal information like pet or child names. Avoid birthdays. Believe it or not it is not very hard for people to find out that information.
It is best to use two or more unrelated words or a combination of words and numbers.
It is a good idea to change them every once in a while.
I know it's tough but it is best not to have the same passwords on multiple websites.
Most people do not think of the security issues until a problem happens and then it is to late.
