Day 8 Friday- Very very long report but exciting things happened for us.Last day at the parks and I was so depressed this morning. I started working Troy immediately when he woke up to stay one more night because the MK had late stay hours and I wanted to take advantage of them. I somehow managed to get him to agree and he called the front to see if they had a room available. Well they didn?t and I wasn?t sure if we was going to get to stay. But we didn?t have time to dwell because we had 8 o?clock reservations at the Grand Floridian hotel. We decided to drive there because the bus transportation had been horrible. We arrived and we was the second family seated with Tigger, Mad Hatter and Alice all greeting us. We was seated and immediately helped ourselves to the buffet. Excellent selection of foods. We was quickly greeted by Pooh and Tigger , then by Tigger and Pooh, and then finally the Mad Hatter and Alice came to our table. I am not exactly sure how the Mad Hatter acts in the movie but the man playing him was rude, impatient, and very hurried. I wanted to say something so bad but I wasn?t for sure. While we was finishing our wonderful breakfast Tigger came by again. Then I finally was able to flag our waitress down to get her to take our payment while Tigger came by once again. He kept returning. Trey made a comment that Tigger had been to our table 4 times and Tigger held out his four fingers and started shaking his head and acting silly & embarrassed. It was cute. On our way out I asked about Mary Poppins because she was suppose to be there but the guy informed us we just missed her and it would be 20 minutes before she is back. The bad thing about it was that Mary wasn?t there first thing in the morning so I suggest asking when being seated her appearance schedule.
So we had to check-out of our hotel but Troy said he would go and do it and for us to take the monorail to the MK. So we got there at 9:20 and went to Adventureland. We rode the Jungle Cruise and we had another great driver named Jason. He was kidding with Trey the whole ride and right before we entered the temple he asked us if we though Trey should drive. I was screaming yes and scrambling to try and get the video camera and camera out and my son suddenly became bashful. He refused to drive the boat. I was heart broken. I later explained to him after the ride that people do not get asked everyday to drive the Jungle Cruise and it was a magic moment that he missed out on. We rode the carpets ride and went to do Pirates but instead got in line to meet Smee and Cpt Hook. After that we was going on Pirates but stopped to watch the Cpt Jack show and Trey suddenly didn?t want to see it or Jack. I persuaded Trey and Ky to watch a little and it was a different Jack. A very bad Jack. This guy looked nothing like him & had horrible mannerisms. So we left for the ride, another walk on. After that we meet up with Troy and he couldn?t believe he missed another great thing happen and told Trey he would have loved to drive the boat.
We went over to get fast passes for Splash but they didn?t have fast passes working that day for the ride. So we had a 30 minute wait and they never checked Kyan?s height. Used fast passes for Big Thunder and got fast passes for Peter Pan. We rode more rides in Fantasyland and went back to use our fast passes for Peter Pan because I thought we could use our's at 2:30 but actually when we went to use them the guy said they wasn?t good for 4:30. I looked at them wrong, 2:30 was the time we could get another fast pass. So I said let?s get another fast pass for Pan because the kids love this ride and we will give our 4:30 ones away so we could go find a hotel for the night. We had 2 minutes to wait before the fast pass machine would work and I was hot and exhausted and leaning up against the wall in front of the machines. And we was approached by this nice lady asking about if we was getting fast passes for Peter Pan and we said yes and she said ?How would you like to go on the ride right now? I am making your son and daughter ?Honorary Lost Boy and Honorary Lost Girl?. So she asked them their names and gave them a certificate and read it to them. I snapped a couple of pictures of her doing so and then she proceeded to take us right on the ride exclaiming to everyone they was Peter?s honorary lost boy and girl. It was truly magical. I don?t know if they do this normally but it was so great. After the ride Troy and I discussed the hotel situation and he wanted to go stay at a resort with access to the monorail so we didn?t have to deal with bus traffic. So we went up to the guest information desk and they let us use their phone. I had the guy give me prices for 3 resorts one being Moderate level, Animal Kingdom Lodge ( my dream to stay there) and Contemporary. (Grand Floridian and Polynesian is higher than Contemporary.) So Troy said to pick one. Bad mistake for him. So I booked us for the Animal Kingdom Lodge!!! I was on a high the rest of the day. I couldn?t believe my dream was coming true. I was so excited, Troy was shocked that I picked that one. So we left the park to go to the AKL and check out the resort.
When we got there to check in. Trey and I was so excited. He actually screamed when I told him we would be staying at the resort with the animals. So we checked in and got our room. It didn?t have a savannah view but the room was still very nice. It had bunk beds for the kids bed and we had a balcony with a patio set and a great view of the front of the lodge. We then decided to check out the pool but it was closed due to weather so we walked around the savannah looking at the animals. We went up to the room and got ready to go to Epcot before dinner at Chef Mickey?s.
At Epcot I took the kids to ride Nemo again while Troy did Mission Space. We then took the monorail to the Contemporary and when we was getting off we was able to see the space shuttle being launched into space. It was so neat and I wished I had taken pictures. But we was late to our reservations by 20 minutes. When we got there I thought we would have to wait awhile to be seated so I took Ky to the bathroom and when I got back Troy was waiting on us to go to the table. I was shocked. Troy had left Trey with Minnie?s cast member and they was just chit chatting and getting along great. He even offered to bring Minnie back to the table since we missed her. During dinner Kyan started swinging her napkin in the air and standing in her seat. I was shocked by her behavior and the fact that she kept doing it. I asked her who taught her that and she exclaimed Goofy. Then the waitress came to the table and explained that they do that when they have a celebration. I later got to see when they had ?celebration time?. At Chef Mickey?s we got to see Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Pluto.
After dinner we went back to the MK for late stay. We went to Toontown and the kid?s rode Goofy?s roller coaster 6 times in a row. But what was neat about it was we got to keep staying on and the fireworks was going off at the time. It was so neat watching them as the coaster climbed the hill. Then it was off to enjoy some more rides during our last night. But Trey fell asleep and missed the last 2 hours of rides. So Kyan and I had some more mommy/daughter time, yea! Oh and we got to watch Mickey and Minnie ride Dumbo too. We final decided to leave at 1:00 am and Kyan was in tears because, ? Mommy no one else is leaving, why do I ?? But on the way out I stopped for my Dole Whip and Kyan was out like a light.
