Day One ? May 10th
Today we woke up at <st1:time Hour="16" Minute="30">4:30 to get ready to head to the airport. We were out the door at <st1:time Hour="17" Minute="30">5:30. We arrived at the USAirport parking and immediately got on a bus to the airport. We breezed through bag check and security and got to our gate easily. Guy and Joshua ran up and down the concourse for an hour or so. We got breakfast at a shop near our gate. Once on the plane <st1:State><st1:place>Brittany played her DS and Joshua played with his toys and Leapster. All in all the flight was great. Joshua did just fine and enjoyed every minute of it. Guy and Brittany took pictures and marveled at the clear skies the whole way. They were even able to see planes passing above and below us. We had great tail winds and ended up getting in 40 minutes early! We arrived in <st1:City><st1:place>Orlando a little after 1. We proceeded straight to the main terminal where Disney Magical Express cast members were ushering people to the correct corridor. The family went and sat on the nearby chairs while I got in line to check in with DME. The line was long but moved quickly. After I checked us in we were sent down a line for the All Star Movie resort. The bus came quickly (within 5 minutes) and we boarded. The bus ride to the resort was nice. We watched a video and answered some trivia questions and before we knew it we were there! Check in at the hotel took a while as we were at the back of the bus, therefore, the back of the line. Once we checked in (our room was Fantasia 2000, Building 8, room 8801). We went straight to the room. Upon arrival I was greeted with my Mother?s Day present. Guy and the kids ordered me flowers from the Disney Florist. I got a carnation bouquet with a glass slipper on top and a crown surrounding them. Hidden inside were ?crystal? (plastic) mini Mickey ears. They were a wonderful surprise!!! We checked out the room and dropped off some of our carry on stuff. Then we walked around and looked at all the other d?cor at the Movies resort.
Next we took our first bus ride to Downtown. We walked around for a while and then headed to Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner at Boma. This restaurant was great and our waiter was funny. We tried all kinds of new foods. After getting STUFFED we went back downtown to go to Quest. We only stayed at Quest for a short time. Joshua didn?t want to ride anything (he was being crabby) and the lines were long. The stuff Joshua wanted to ride, he was too short to?so Brittany and I created our own coaster, the Screamin? Banshee, and had fun riding it. We needed more twists and turns but it was still a fun process. We walked around Downtown a bit then back to the hotel for bed. It was a long day for us.
Today the weather was hot and humid. Our bus driver, Mark, was funny and made our journey to the hotel exciting. Our first impression of your room was that it was nicer than we expected. We love the giant d?cor. The worst thing about our hotel is that it?s the farthest (longest bus ride) from everything. The most magical moment of the day was getting my Mother?s Day present (oh, the florist said they couldn?t guarantee I?d get it early on Sunday so Guy just had them deliver it on Saturday).
Look for more detailed reports as I write reviews of everything...including the Disney Magical Express (I recommend it!!).
