Today was our first day in the parks. We had breakfast scheduled for <st1:time Minute="5" Hour="8">8:05 at Tusker House. We got up early to catch the bus to Animal Kingdom. We had breakfast with Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy. Then we headed straight to Kilimanjaro Safari. We were in the queue as the ride opened and only had to wait 2 minutes to board a vehicle. We took our bumpy, fun, ride around the savannah and even got to see the lioness and lion. After disembarking from our safari we went to Expedition Everest. We got fast passes for that and then went over to <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Dino <st1:PlaceType>Land. Brittany and I rode Primeval Whirl while Guy and Joshua rode Triceratops Spin. Then Brittany and I went back and rode Everest while Guy stayed in <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Dino <st1:PlaceType>Land with Joshua. Then we switched and after Everest we all rode Dinosaur. Then it was time for lunch. Guy ate at Flame Tree BBQ and the kids and I ate at Restaurantosaurus. After lunch we conquered Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, Flights of Wonder and Maharajah Jungle Trek. We caught the Wildlife Express Train to Rafiki?s Planet Watch. At the Watch we encountered the world?s largest flower. When it blooms it smells like ?rotting flesh? and attracts swarms of flies. Glad it wasn?t in bloom! We went to what we?ve coined the Lamest Petting Zoo and ran into Push (a talking, moving trash can). Seeing Push on our first day of our first trip was fun?but it was also bad because it made Joshua want to interact with EVERY trash can we saw the rest of the week! He had to push open and look into EVERY one!! Push was fun and amusing to watch the kids in awe. Joshua did not like the Boneyard and I escaped riding Kali River Rapids and It?s Tough to be a Bug. We watched the parade (it wasn't very good, if you miss it, no big deal!). At one point today we ate popcicles. Joshua was so tired he was falling asleep eating it. It was so fun to watch! Unfortuantely, my battery on my video camera was dead (must have left it on at the airport and didn't realize it) so I missed all the stuff that would have been great video! Bummer!! At <st1:time Minute="0" Hour="17">5:00 we headed over to the Rainforest Caf? to meet up with Mom and Dad. We had dinner under the stars near the swinging monkeys. We all ordered our flashing souvenir glasses and we shared a ?Volcano? (they holler this through the restaurant as they deliver it to your table) for dessert.

After dinner we all headed back to the hotel for a dip in the pool. We swam for a little bit in the medium sized pool. Someone had pooped in the big pool and the lifeguard had to call maintenance to come get it. Needless to say we were grossed out and went to the other pool. Then we got dressed and headed back Downtown to do a little shopping. Joshua fell asleep in Guy?s arms and we were back at the hotel for bed by 10. Animal Kingdom was great. It was a ton of walking though!!! We had a fun, tiring time.

Today the weather was foggy in the morning making our visit to <st1:place>Africa very memorable! Everest loomed in the distance above the clouds. The best thing of the day was riding Everest. The worst thing?lots and lots and lots of walking and getting blisters on the first day out. The funniest thing today was the speaker on the train to Rafiki?s Planet Watch. Today we started looking for hidden Mickey?s and found a few. The most magical moment was seeing the Tree of Life for the first time.

And a busy 2nd day! No wonder your little one was falling asleep eating a popsicle! LOL I love the pic of Everest coming out of the fog. Did you have a long wait for the safari ride? We're hitting that on an early entry to try and beat the lines.

What a wonderful day! If we make it to AK (and we are planning on it since Alex wants to ride Everest) I am very anxious to see the Tree of Life.
And it is great to have confirmation that PUSH is also at WDW! And seeing him on your first day too - awesome. That is so cute about Joshua having to look in all the trash cans after that. lol

AK is the only park that actually has characters outside the gate visiting with guests before the opening. It's a great chance to get in some Disney magic before the opening. You will usually find Jungle Book characters and Rafiki. You can also poke around the gift shop at Rainforest Cafe before the opening.
We had breakfast there (Rainforest) two visits ago. There breakfast pizza was aweseome and big enough to split!
