Day 3 ? May 12th

Today was our first day at Hollywood Studios. We ate breakfast at the hotel and boarded the bus for HS at <st1:time Minute="0" Hour="9">9:00. We leisurely walked down the main street and over to Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster for fast passes. The lines were short so Britt and I went ahead and rode Rockin Roller Coaster and got child swap for it. We saved our fast passes for later. We rode it and loved it! Guy and Joshua ventured over and rode Star Tours and we met up with them after our Coaster ride and we all rode Star Tours together. Then we all went back and rode <st1:place><st1:PlaceType>Tower of <st1:PlaceName>Terror. Joshua refused to watch anything. He covered his eyes the whole time. He would have really enjoyed it if he'd looked! He was so worried something would jump out. He didn't scream or cry, just covered his eyes. By then Mom and Dad had arrived and we met up with them. We all went and rode The Great Movie Ride. We stopped and watched High School Musical 2 and then off to ride Star Tours again. We had lunch at the Sci Fi dine in. We loved it! The restaurant was so quiet we felt like we needed to whisper. It?s the quietest I?ve ever heard kids! They were all mesmerized by the giant drive in screen! After dinner we all headed down the Streets of America to Muppet Vision 3-D. Joshua had the BEST time on this. He laughed and jumped and grabbed at the air. It was more fun watching him react than it was to watch the movie myself. We took the Studios Backlot Tour, got tattoos (J-a tiger, B-Jack and Sally, M-Tinkerbell), rode Rockin Roller Coaster and <st1:place><st1:PlaceType>Tower of <st1:PlaceName>Terror again. Then Mom and I went to check us in for dinner at <st1:City><st1:place>Hollywood and Vine while the rest of the family went and saw Lights, Motors, Action!

We ate dinner with the Fantasmic dining package at <st1:City><st1:place>Hollywood and Vine. After eating we headed back to the hotel for a dip in the pool. We headed back to Hollywood Studios to wait for Fantasmic. We watched Fantasmic from the Ursula section at <st1:time Minute="0" Hour="9">9:00. Tonight was Extra Magic Hours for HS. Mom and Dad took Joshua back to the hotel for a ?sleepover? in their room while we stayed and rode Star Tours, <st1:place><st1:PlaceType>Tower of <st1:PlaceName>Terror, and Rockin Roller Coaster one last time and do a little shopping. The bellhop on TofT was fantastic. He was bug-eyed and creepy. He kept singing random things under his breath and kept creeping up at our back to whisper in our ear during the Twilight Zone movie. He definitely freaked me out! Then we went and saw Voyage of the Little Mermaid, had churros and back to the hotel.

The weather today was not as hot. The best thing was the bellhop on TofT. The worst thing was having to stand on the bus every time we rode it today. Today Joshua tried TofT. He covered his eyes and therefore didn?t like it. He would have loved it if he?d watched, but he stuck it out like a champ and didn?t cry at all. The most magical moment of the day was getting misty eyed while watching Fantasmic.

yes D that is Sci-Fi
So you didn't take Joshua to the Playhouse Disney dance party? That was my kids favorite part dancing with the characters.

K - we so wanted to take J to the party but it wasn't until after Fantasmic. Since he was going back with Mom and Dad to their room for their sleepover he had to leave. Dad can't handle a whole lot and after a long long day he needed to get back to the room. When he's feeling bad, it's really bad (his esophegeal cancer caused them to remove most of his esophogus and part of the stomach, which is now basically in his throat so when his stomach is upset you can imagine what happens). But I walked by and heard the commotion! Would have been great!!!!
D - Sci Fi is a restaurant. You sit in cars which face a giant drive in theater screen. The screen shows clips of really old sci fi movies along with a few kids ones (like old Tom and Jerry's) thrown into the mix. For adults it's funny to watch cause they are all so old and lame! But the kids are glued and I mean glued to the screen!! Our table was for 6 so we sat at a table facing each other, but the other cars were bench type seats so you only sat 2 and 2. Everyone faces the screen so if you are a party of 3 or more I wouldn't like it that way! We didn't have a very big selection of food but the atmosphere made up for it. It's all decorated like a drive in movie..so it's twighlight with twinkling stars etc. The kitchen is the snack bar. You even have little drive in speakers at your table.

50's Prime Time has that same ice cream desert with carmel corn and M&amp;M's. I never would have thought to put carmel corn and ice cream together....but it was really good!

Brittany was totally bummed cause she can't eat carmel corn with her braces. And it's one of her favorites. So when it showed up covering her cheesecake it was a sad moment....for her...but happy for us who helped her get rid of it! :)

That caramel corn dessert is also available at Disneyland - at Ariel's Grotto.
Sounds like a fantastic day! How much were those light up glasses? I know Alex is going to want a pair. lol

I have no clue! I think they were around $6.95 a piece in the gift shop...but we got ours at dinner with our drinks in them...you just have to ask for them!

Thanks Mynde - that sounds about right for Disney. lol
I know the necklaces are 5 at Disneyland - the ones you can turn off and change the light pattern on.

The cups are actually large! They last a long time too. J got light up glasses, I think they were $8 (I didn't buy them) but they are too big for him so when he decides to wear them we have to hold them on his face. :)

Look at it this way - for 8 dollars, you have something he can use for several years. lol

You know..I haven't seen them for a few days...wonder where they went?! I would have talked him into a necklace or a pirate sword or something..but since Grandma was with him...he got the glasses he'll never put on again. Oh well! Wasn't my $$! and even if it was...when we're on vacation we have no qualms buying that stuff. ;)
