My Birthday!
It?s my birthday! Yay me, or waaaahhhhh, it?s my 30th birthday! Today is Extra Magic Hours for EPCOT so up again at 630, this time things went smoother, maybe ?cause we ate some cereal which seemed to kick us into gear. We got to EPCOT right as we were allowed in. First thing we do, we fast passed Mission Space and then went and rode Test Track with a 5 min wait and then went back over to Mission Space because it was only a 5 min wait. Now both Jake and I have issues with spinning so we decided to try the green side first along the way I talked to a cast member and she said the orange side was like a gravitron ride, like the rides that spin around and you stick to the wall and the floor drops out. We were like, oh, that?s nothing we can handle that. So we go ahead and do the green side, no problems, we thought it was fun. We then head over to Spaceship Earth as the orange side on Mission Space wasn?t opened yet. I liked Spaceship Earth, I especially liked the end, I thought it was funny and if I would have know what was going on when they took my picture I would have made a funny face. After that we decide to check on Mission Space again, both sides are up and running with 5 min waits so we jump in the orange side (we never had to use fast passes for this ride) and OMG!! The orange side is sooooo much better than the, what we call now, the crap-ola side. I did feel a little uneasy right at the end when you?re trying to land and it was going side to side, but the spinning didn?t bother me at all, nor Jake. After our second trip to Mars we head over to the land, fast pass Soarin? (holy crap that line was long!) and rode Living with the Land. I really liked this ride, the first part was kinda boring but once you got into the green houses it was very interesting. By now it?s 11 am and we have 1130 reservations for Coral Reef, so we just head over to there and wait until 1115 when they start checking people in. We were the first ones checked in and I requested aquarium seating because I wanted to watch the fish. I?m guessing that?s why we weren?t seated first, but close enough to it. Our waiter leads us in and we?re sitting right next to the glass with a big ole sea turtle hangin? out right there! The sucker was huge! Every now and again he?d swim away but he always came back. Anyways, we sit down and I get handed a menu, open it up and it?s me, Jake, and Mickey looking back at me with tons of Belle?s and Eeyore?s and a big Happy Birthday Danette! on the inside. I look at Jake and go, did you do this? Our waiter laughed and said, no, we know everything about you and wanted to wish you a happy birthday. I finally got it out of Jake that he supplied the picture and provided my favorite characters.
So now we?re ready to order. For drinks we order this yummy drink that I don?t remember the name of, but it had a glowing ice cube in it. We each got one. We also ordered the same thing, which rarely happens, usually we order 2 different things and share or swap if I don?t like mine. We got the grilled Mahi Mahi and OMG, it was soooooooo good! The whole meal was wonderful, except that it seemed to take awhile to get our waiter back over, at one point he came by and asked if we?ve seen any divers yet and that they usually show up around 1230 to feed the fish and clean the tank. I said, oh cool, we?ll keep an eye out for them (it was about 1220) and then he said, would you like dessert? Jake and I said sure, we?ll split something so I ordered the chocolate wave. When it comes out the wavy chocolate piece in the front has Happy Birthday on it, too cool! I make Jake take pictures of it and then the divers enter the water and start swimming towards us, comes up to the glass, points at me and unrolls a Happy Birthday sign and throws the shells to look like confetti. He motions for me to come over and take a picture so we do. This of course is causing a commotion in the restaurant so now everyone is going ?ahhhhh, happy birthday!? My whole meal at Coral Reef was very magical and very memorable so thank you ladies very much for the extra magic ya?lll manage to send to me! You have no idea how much that meant to me and I will always remember it!
So after my wonderful meal (and we decided that that was our best meal of the trip by the way) we rode Nemo and then it was time for our Soarin? fast passes after that we headed over to Animal Kingdom to try and finish what we had started the day before.
Once there we headed straight for Everest as we?d already missed the Nemo show and wouldn?t be able to get to it until after the parade, so we stood in line for almost an hour before getting to ride, yep, still as fun as the first time we rode it! So we get off that and head straight to Nemo and friends. I?m telling ya?ll, we had the best luck with getting in to see shows. We got there with 20 minutes to spare and got decent seats. Nemo was very cool and Kristi?s right, you don?t noticed the actors after awhile although I tried to because their actions and facial features were extensions of the puppets. It was a good show and I would watch it again, but I will bring a stadium seat to sit on! LOL After Nemo we headed back over to Everest which we got to ride twice with only 5-10 min waits. By now we were starving so we stopped and Flame Tree Bar-B-Que and we both got the smoked beef sandwich and man on man it was good! Forget Tusker House, next time we eat in Animal Kingdom we?re going to Flame Tree it was that good! We then decided to head home after that. We got back to the campsite around 715 and decided to have the rest of the wine we bought at Medieval Times. We straightened up, took showers, had some wine and was in bed by 900. We didn?t have anywhere to be the next day until 915 for our Crystal Palace reservations so planned on sleeping in for a bit.
Final thoughts for the day, love our thrills rides! Loved Nemo, just wish Disney would pad their seats! We were very glad to be heading back to the campsite early as by this point we were worn out and hadn't made it to bed before midnight yet and had 2 EMH in the morning two days in a row!
Day 5 Trailer: Pooh and Friends, a camera misshap, and finally the Headless Horseman!
Are you seeing a pattern with the no picture thing? LOL
