Uh-oh, Pooh, Food and Wine, and a Headless Horseman

So today starts out good. We had a nice relaxing early night, had some wine and was in bed by 9 pm, early bedtime was so nice! We had no morning Extra Magic Hours, no where to be until 915 for our Pooh and Friends breakfast at the Crystal Palace. We get up around 730 (wonderful!) and start getting ready. Before leaving the campsite we try and get some close up pictures of my ring as my mom was driving me crazy asking for a good pic (the one I took on my phone and texted to everyone apparently was blurry). So we do that and then go wait for the bus. Today we?re going to park hop and use Disney transportation for the first time (we?re going to Food and Wine, thought we?d play it safe) for the whole day. So we?re waiting on our bus and Jake says, I?m going to lock all the pictures we?ve taken so far, so we don?t lose them. Okay, whatever, I don?t touch the camera unless he specifically says to so it doesn?t matter to me. Now, we have not downloaded our pics since we set up camp on Sun afternoon, it is now Wed morning. We?re sitting there and all of a sudden I hear, NO! I look over and Jake is staring at his camera muttering something about it deleted them. I?m starting to feel sick. Deleted what? I didn?t ask too much after the first initial shock of realization we may have just lost all our pictures because poor Jake was so upset that he was sick to his stomach for like 2 days, even now it upsets him. I?m hoping that it took the pics off the SD card and saved them to the camera?s internal memory and Jake is going to look it up in the book to see if that?s the case but until then, we don?t have those pics. Surprisingly, I was calm about it. I said lesson learned, always, always download the pics as soon as you get to the laptop and that we can retake some of the pics we lost. It didn?t make him feel any better.

So now the day is starting off kinda bad, it didn?t get much better at breakfast. We did get there for the rope drop ceremony again, pure accident! Although I guess it makes sense if our reservations are 15 min after park opening that we?ll see rope drop again. We get over to Crystal Palace, have about a 10 min wait so not too bad and we go in and are seated. Again, I?ll have a more detailed review on this breakfast later, but again, character interaction wasn?t great and the food was so-so (it wasn?t as good as Tusker House). We had a problem with our waiter making it back to our table, although I again got a Happy Birthday card signed by all the characters there and a cupcake, to give us our bill or to take our bill. Jake actually got up at one point and chased him down to ask for the bill.

After breakfast we headed over to Jungle Cruise, an hour for that ride? I have never seen it an hour long at Disneyland! Fast passes are my favorite thing about Disney World! LOL We fast pass Jungle Cruise and head over to Tomorrow Land. On the way we see Rafiki so we stop and say hi. In Tomorrow Land we ride Space Mountain again and then see Stitch so I we stop and say hello to him as well.

Oh, forgot to mention this, we also rode Stitch?s Great Escape at the halloween party, we didn?t like that ride. Jake rode it when it was Alien Encounter and he said that was so much better than Stitch. We just didn?t like it and will probably never do it again unless we desperately needed ac or out of the rain and there was like a 5 min wait.

Okay, so back to this day. We go back over to ride Jungle Cruise, I love this version! No wonder it was an hour long wait, love the temple scene and wish Disneyland had that scene as well. After that we stop in front of the Partners Statue and take a pic, I know have a pic in front of the statue at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. We also get some pics of us with the castle in the background. From there we hop on the monorail for the first time and head over to the TTC to transfer to the EPCOT Monorail. I liked the monorail ride going by all the resorts, I wish we could have gotten the chance to visit some of the other resorts. We transfer to the EPCOT monorail, love how it goes through the park before letting you off, kind of cool to see EPCOT from above.

So we get to EPCOT and head for the land pavilion, we?re on a mission! The day before, in the area you come out in after the Figment ride, we saw where you could take a picture and have it super imposed onto a Disney image. Well, I found one that said where glass slippers always fit and it?s Cinderella and Prince Charming (they?re in color) on the upper steps of the castle and he?s putting on her glass slipper. Now, on the lower steps of the castle (all the rest of the picture is in black and white) is were Jake and I are super imposed, holding hands, we?re also in color. I said that?s perfect, I want that picture so Jake said okay. Let me tell you, pretending you?re standing on stairs is kinda hard, Jake had to be kneeling and I actually had to bend my knees a little to make the scene look right, we had to take our picture 4 times before we got it right! LOL But the picture turned out awesome! I?ll see if I can scan it and post it for ya?ll. When we pay for the pictures we also get a wireless mouse for my laptop, in the shape of Mickey Mouse?s hand and a food and wine pin for my lanyard. I love that you can have the packages waiting for you at the gate, well, at least I love it if you remember to pick your stuff up! LOL We almost left ours.

So, from there, Food and Wine baby! I don?t remember the places we stopped at but I can tell you a lot of the food we had. We started off going counter clockwise so Canada was first but that wasn?t the first food booth. We stopped and even though it was hot outside, we got the wild mushroom soup, very yummy! We hold off on drinks, we?re trying to get to England to get a shandy (a light lager and ?lemonade? mix drink, pretty much beer and sprite mixed together, but it tastes good) as we haven?t had one since we left Australia. So we finish the soup and keep going, next booth is Canada and I only remember that ?cause we were in Canada and they had the cheddar cheese soup served in Le Cellier at their booth, again we got that even though it was hot out, very yummy as well! We finally get to Rose and Crown and our shandies! Those were yummy too! I had decided that we were going to take pics in certain places, frame them and send them to family for Christmas. For instance, we took a pic in Italy for my sister as Italy is her dream vacation. For my mom, in Japan ?cause we?re 1/4 Japanese, for Jake?s grandparent?s in front of the Norwegian church, etc. So while we?re eating our way around the world, we?re taking these pictures as well so we didn?t really have time to watch any shows or anything. By the time we made it to the Norway pavilion I had had the shandy and probably 4 or 5 4 oz glasses of wine so I was feeling pretty good. We jump on Maelstrom, it was okay, I liked that it went backwards but didn?t like the movie at the end, it told absolutely nothing about Norway?s history so I was disappointed. Next stop, Mexico and margaritas! Woo hoo, just want I needed, more alcohol. So we pay almost $10 for a mango margarita and look, churros! Double woo hoo! And then I tasted my margarita, nasty! Yuck, yuck, yuck! Jake didn?t even finish it off for me, it was that bad. So I got a dos equis instead, and my churro! Once we finished that up we head back to Ft Wilderness to relax before our haunted carriage ride. And like I said, on the way out, we almost forgot our package!

So now we?re at Ft Wilderness, down by the barn waiting on our carriage ride. While we were waiting we could stroll around the barn so that was kinda cool, those horses are huge! When it comes time for our ride, we find out our horse?s name is Prince Charming, how fitting is that?! So we hop in and talk to our driver for a bit, she and Prince Charming have been together for 7 years! He was about 90 % voice command trained which was cool to see, she could tell him to stop and he would look back at her, do whatever it was once more and then stop, like he was gonna have the last word in. So our ride has started, they have speakers on the carriage and she hooks an iPod up that tells the story of Ichabod Crane and Sleep Hollow all the while taking us through the campgrounds to ?Sleepy Hollow?. As the story is being told you?re passing what they?re talking about in the story so that is perfect timing. The whole time I?m sitting there freaking myself out because I know the stupid headless horseman is going to chase us down and I?m going to scream like a little girl! LOL And then, we see him! He comes up to the carriage, I have a death grip on Jake?s arm and my beer (can?t loose that!), circles us, comes back around to my side and the horse kinda dances around right there, not leaving! I think he knew I was easily scared so was hanging out on my side on purpose! Anyways, I guess part of the story was he galloped up to you and chased you down, I don?t know, must have not paid attention to that part, Jake swears it was in the story. Finally he goes away, he rides back behind us and stops and I?m thinking oh good, he?s gone, we?re safe! I don?t know why, maybe heard hooves hitting the ground, but I turned around and he was coming up on us fast!!! I didn?t scream (almost did though) turned back around and said OMG! Here he comes again!! And of course he comes back up to my side and the whole time I?m going OMG, OMG, OMG, go Prince go! Then we get to the bridge that he can?t cross and he stops and again I look back and he?s sitting there watching us. By this time our driver is laughing and asking if we had a good time because it sounded like we had a good time. The ride was awesome and even though I was a scardy cat I would do it again.

So after the ride we went back to our campsite and then to bed. We had morning EMH to make in the morning. Oh, and because of the camera issue we decided we knew we had to retake some pics so we came up with a genius plan of doing all 4 parks in 1 day!

Final thoughts for the day, we had a great end to a rocky start and had a huge lesson learned! We loved walking around World Showcase and are talking about trying to fit in a three day weekend trip next year with Jake?s parents just to go to the Food and Wine Festival.

Day 6 Trailer: Well, I already gave it away, 4 parks in 1 day! Are we crazy? Can we do it?

I forgot one thing, we got the Tiki Room in there as well, did you know you can't eat your Dole Whips in the WDW version? So, we didn't like that for starters, secondly, the show seemed way shorter than the DL version. We were not impressed and will probably not do it again unless someone we were with wanted to do it. We also got another Dole Whip, those are soooo good!

Oh no!!! I can't believe your pictures are gone. Oh that is sad...one little note about that camera. I deleted some of our first Christmas pictures last year just trying to delete one picture. Needless to say, I haven't tried that again. I just wait and delete them on the computer or after I have saved them to the computer. I have never tried messing with it at Disney, I could imagine his mood and how upset Jake probably was. However, you are much nicer than me because I probably would have rode DH butt and never let him forget it.
The picture you had done in the Figment lab sounds neat, what was the cost?
So did you only try soup at the F&W?

I guess I should have told you about the margaritas. I had the one that had three flavors in it and I didn't like it either.
The carriage ride sounds like so much fun. Did you take pictures from it?

The pictures at Figments were exspensive.....I think we spent around $80 and didn't get too many pics. We ate lots more than just soup! Sushi.....um, something from Mexico, ummmm, dang, I'll have to look at my receipts, sorry! I'll figure it out and post it all for ya. And yes we have pics from the carriage ride, but they didn't come out so well but I'll post them.

Yeah, I've never attempted to touch my pics for that reason! I wait till I'm home on the computer. Then I burn a Cd. Then I have them developed. THEN I delete them. It drives my family nuts. But hey!
The carriage ride sounds awesome!!!! Can't wait to see pics of that! Even if they are blurry!!!

We got an 8x10 a 5x7 4 wallets and two fridge magnet holders for two of the wallets, I think it was $84 for that package. Very expensive but it was just too perfect to pass up.

About the pictures - we have 4 SD cards for our camera - we delete NOTHING while at the resort. We just switch out the cards. Before each trip all cards are empty so we know if we put in a card that is not empty, it is the wrong card. You can get SD cards pretty cheaply now so you might want to think about that before the next trip!
The carriage ride. Wow - sounds great!
I agree with the two of you about the Stitch ride. I didnt' like it at all. Didn't do the Tiki Room, but I had heard you couldn't eat in the one at WDW.
That picture does sound amazing. I can't wait to see it!
