A final Mission, one last Test, a mini cruise, and a talking potato.

So today will be our first real day in Disney Hollywood Studios. We went yesterday but only for a few hours to complete our 4 parks mission. We decided to drive to EPCOT incase after DHS we felt like hanging out a little longer as EPCOT had evening Extra Magic hours that night. We get there and go straight to Test Track and fast pass it, hop on Mission Space, orange side of course and then wandered around Mouse Gears and waited for our fast pass time (which wasn?t long). Hopped on Test Track, enjoyed it again and then headed for a quick trip around the world on our way to International Gateway. As we?re passing Germany, we see Snow White standing next to the Lagoon, no line at all! It?s like no one realized she was there. Of course World Showcase just opened so that might be why. Run over and take a pic with her and then off to England for some Fish ?n Chips before heading to DHS. The fish ?n chips were good and we polished them off while waiting for the Friendship Boats that go between EPCOT and DHS. That boat ride is a nice little trip. It makes stops at the Boardwalk, Beach Club, Dolphin, and Swan before stopping at DHS, and making the same stops on the way back to EPCOT.

Okay, so now we?re at DHS, first off, straight to Toy Story Midway Mania for fast passes, nope, already out. We go across the park and snag fast passes for Rockin? Roller Coaster. Because Toy Story was out of fast passes our plan was to get in line during the parade and hopefully the time won?t show 140 min (no kidding, that?s what it said). We get the show schedules out and look those over and see that if we book it we can get over to Lights, Camera, Action Motor Stunt Show, we just barely made it with 10 min until the start of the show and it was a good show! The only thing was that was annoying was they let people in to the show for about 10-15 min into it so people kept walking around. Like I said the show was really good and we?ll probably see it every time we go even though at this point I?m really tired of sitting on nothing but metal bleachers, we joked around about bringing stadium seats with us next time we go to Disney. After the show we start looking for food and go to Pizza Port and holy cow those lines were long! We decide to skip that and walk the other direction stopping at Muppets 4D on the way. We also stopped by the Walt Disney?s One Man?s Dream, it was neat to walk through and see all the pictures and displays and follow Walt?s life. By this time we?re starving our fast pass time is up for Rockin? so we ride that (still starving I might add!) and when we get off we go to Catalina Eddie?s (the same place with the mean cast member the day before) for another pizza for me and a sandwich for Jake. By this time the parade has started and we head over to Toy Story.

Okay, the line at Toy Story was only 60 min long, this was the absolute longest we waited for any ride but we expected that. We got selected to carry the little time card to the front of the line. Mr. Potato Head didn?t work, right about the time we got up to him he started working, from that point on the line really did seem much shorter. One thing I did notice, the ride was less than 6 months old and already the log house where you get your glasses has already been carved in, kids climbing on it and rubbing all the paint off, it just made me sad that people have no respect for things. Anyways, we get on the ride and WOW! It was good! Unfortunately, our Bo Peep screen didn?t work so we told the cast member at the end of the ride, not to get another ride but to let them know so it can get fixed. She offered us another ride anyways and of course we took it! So off we go again! Jake beat me horribly both times, I would get the easter egg points and then he would steal the high points from me, I told him he cheated, he said he?s just good like that. Next time we go I?m going to steal his glasses and we?ll see if we?re a little more even!

After Toy Story we decide to ride the backlot tour (and we checked the wait time, it was at 120 min, we got in at the right time!) and stopped at Star Tours on the way. I seem to remember Disneyland?s being longer? Anyways, we get off that and go to the backlot tour, and it?s closed for the day. So we head over to The Great Movie Ride. I didn?t realize how long this ride is. It?s a good ride, but our ?gangster? wasn?t all that great. Jake and I talked about it and realized she reminded us of our old roommate so that might be why we didn?t really thing she was all that great. So we get off the super long ride and realize we?re gonna have to almost run to catch Fantasmic! On the way though I made us stop to get a frozen chocolate banana, I had been wanting one all day and figured it would be nice to have a snack during the show. We get to the Fantasmic seating and we?re like the second to last section in on the left side, not too bad on seats. Okay, if I would have realized all the snack stuff that was in the Fantasmic! plaza area, we wouldn?t have stopped, and they even had a dinner going for that show. Now, this show wins out of the two parks, hands down! It was awesome! This will probably always be a must see for us when we go. So after Fantasmic! we head for the Friendship boats and head back to EPCOT. We get there right as EMH are starting and get through the International Gateway right before Illuminations ends (by the way, our Friendship cast member told us it costs $30,000 a night for that show!) so beat the rush out of World Showcase. We thought we try and ride Test Track one more time before heading back to the campsite, but no, the line was still long and we?re also hungry. So on the way out we stopped at Electric Umbrella, we will never eat here again. We both got burgers and they were yucky, the fries were icky as well. The only good thing we found was that they had apple juice on their soda fountain.

After eating we headed back to camp and started breaking down camp. We got everything together and ready to go for the next day. It was kinda sad because it meant we were leaving the next day. After we got everything together that we could we went to bed.

Day 8 Trailer: Another round of Toys, and Rockin? pic, a wall of water, and Jake sets the table! Oh yeah, and a sad good bye.

PS. I'm gonna try and get the last day and final thoughts done on the drive back to TN.

Woo hoo! Smart thinking starting the day at Epcot then taking the boat to Hollywood Studios! Duh, we were so dumb on the transportation! :) Next time we'll be pros and can give tips to other clueless travelers! ;)
Sounds like a great time! Glad they let you back on to ride Toy Story again!!! :( about the building's quick demise!
I liked Great Movie Ride...but I expected it to be long! ;) Our first gangster was great..then the second time around...she was not so good! Only..we couldn't hear either one of them on the ride just when they weren't using the microphone!!! :)
did you ever get to do the backlot tour? I think that's what's in your preview...
