Sorry for the long delay!
Today was an MGM day. We tried to get there as close to the opening as is possible for us and we hoofed it over to Toy Story Midway Mania. We got our fastpasses, and seeing that the line was just 20 minutes decided to wait in line as well.
This was the only time we waited in queue, as we usually got fast passes. I'm so glad we had one queue experience because it is amazing! I loved all the over sized toys. I loved the crayons that showed different levels of wear...except for the pink which was in pristine condition (Glen's take on that was "boys don't color with pink").
Then there was Mr. Potato Head. I thought he was like Buzz from the Buzz Light Year ride, and was shocked to find out that he was interacting with folks in the queue. This is the best queue ever.
I loved the ride, far more then I expected I would. I thought this would be like Buzz with a few extra 3-D effects. I had no idea how amazing the interaction would be. Glen and Linnea had a blast on this ride.
Then Linnea and I were off to ride Star Tours, while Glen waited at a nearby table. Linnea and I went on it twice, then the three of us watched Darth Vader fight brave new Jedi's. Linnea indicated she'd like to do that too, so we told her we'd give that a try later in the week.
We then rode Toy Story a second time with our fast passes. After this, Glen was hungry and we all walked over to The Commissary (I think the food here is pretty bad). Glen was able to order a cinnamon role as it was still breakfast service. We decided to send me back to Toy Story for more FP's even though they wouldn't kick in until evening.
When I got back to the Commissary, Linnea was eating chicken nuggets. I knew we'd be off schedule for meals for the rest of the day. We did Muppet's 3-D, then Linnea and I went on Star Tours again. After that Glen headed back to the hotel to get some work done.
I was starved, and I had had such a great vegetarian dish at the Prime Time Cafe several trips ago that I was craving. Anyway, I didn't want to take up a table since it was just me dining, so we sat at the counter at the bar (Tune In Lounge) and I ordered my pepper stuffed with grains and ratatouille. I asked if I could get some sort of ice cream Sundae for Linnea and they brought her out an amazing kids menu Sundae that was $1.99!!! It was a generous portion of vanilla ice cream with sprinkles and different syrups served in cups on the side. It was quite a deal!
I also learned from the bartender that MLK weekend in Florida ran Fri-Mon, and that there was a big cheer leading event that would be going on (big crowds).
We returned back to the hotel, picked up Glen and returned to do our Toy Story Mania. Crowds were starting to pick up so we called it an early night.
