Today we are off to Animal Kingdom, we managed to get out and about early enough to arrive quite close to opening, on arrived I sent everyone to Kilimanjaro Safaris which we fast passed I stopped at a little patisserie and picked up a couple of things to eat for second breakfast, we had eaten already but at stupid o?clock when the kids got up. I think I got a cinnamon scroll and a white chocolate bread thing which was lovely. After collecting the fast passes we sat down and ate our buns then headed through the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. When we excited here after spending quite a bit of time watching the Gorillas up so close it was time for our trip through the Safari, we enjoyed this ride we saw quite a few animals with the elephants and giraffes being our favourites probably because they were so close up and easy to be seen. It is quite difficult to point out directions to a 2 year old on where to look to see something if it is hiding behind a tree just to the left of the hill etc etc. Seth thoroughly enjoyed his trip as you can see from the photo below.

After this ride just about everyone needed the toilet so we headed back towards Tusker House Restaurant to use the amenities and listen to some African music being played by some street entertainment which was very enjoyable.
We headed over to Kali River Rapids which Doug and I rode while Grandma and Grandpa took the kids through the Maharajah Jungle Trek, we were expecting a reasonable wait for the Kali River Rapids but it was a walk on, I liked this ride but I felt it was too short, it seemed to be telling a story then it just kind of ended. Anyway we didn?t get wet while on it, but two people on our raft got drenched and I did laugh a little, as they were opposite us and all I could see was this massive wave come up over the side and land on them. They were pretty good sports about it all. After catching up the Grand olds and the kids, Avril decided that she would like to do the raft ride, she wanted to know if she would get wet, well I said we didn?t and it would seem (from our 1 ride) that you have a good chance of not getting wet. So off Doug and Avril went to ride, we stood over the top on the bridge and Grandpa took some pictures and Cullen tried to spray them with the water hoses, which didn?t seem to be working but he didn?t care. (That?s the good thing with 2 year olds they don?t notice that sort of stuff) Well Doug and Grandma came walking towards, well waddling really absolutely drenched from head to foot, well I just cracked up laughing, and I nearly wet my pants. I am laughing now as I type this it was just so funny, took them a couple of hours to dry out, well they were wet to their undies. After leaving there we wandered around past Everest and had the line been a bit shorter Doug and I would have ridden it, but we thought we should leave something for our next trip, plus he isn?t a big roller coaster fan, he will ride for me but if I say don?t worry about it he is very quick to say OK. We wandered up past the finding Nemo theatre and ended up a Dinoland, now I am not quite sure about how this fits into the Animal Kingdom, Cullen and Seth had both fallen asleep on the walk over so they slept in about the only bit of shade we could find, Doug and Avril sat on a bench in the sun and dried out, I had a little look around, Cullen woke up and played a game of throwing the balls, but didn?t win anything and we headed away to find something for lunch. We walked past the Boneyard on our way to lunch and I thought Cullen would probably quite like to play in there, but luckily he wasn?t really paying attention and had heard the word lunch so we did miss that out.

We decided to have lunch at Flame Tree BBQ, I found a nice seat in the shade with the kids and waited and waited and waited and waited some more the other to get the food and come over to us. That was one very very long line. The food was nice, nothing to rave about in my opinion but enjoyable. After lunch Doug and I ran off to ride Dinosaur which I really enjoyed while Grandma and Grandpa took the kids for a wander around looking at the animals by the Tree of Life, after we met up with them we went to see It?s Tough to be a Bug which we all thought was really good, although Seth who was sitting on my lap playing with his glasses and happily watching the show crawled up my body and nearly over my head when Chopper appeared, he didn?t cry or anything but he did stay perched up there buried in my hair for a bit. Cullen was sitting on Doug?s lap so didn?t get the full effects but enjoyed it just the same, didn?t seem scared or anything.
We then decided it would be a good idea to head home, so we headed out. On the way I stopped and picked up a map for Disney Hollywood Studios as we were going there the next day and somewhat late given we are on day 6 a ?1st visit to WDW? badge for the kids, 1 of them got lost so I will need to pick up another one when we return so they both have one on their notice boards.
Somewhere during the day I can't remember when Cullen stopped to bash some of these drums, I think he enjoyed this the most all day.

We also stopped and got our photo taken outside by the photo pass person, when I scan them in I will post the few photos we bought as well.
We headed back to the condo, for a swim, this was the first time we used the pool it was all going well until Cullen decided it would be a good time to fill his pants, first time he has ever done that in his swimming suit, good job he had a swim nappy on. Doug and I nipped out to Publix to get some bits to make a chicken salad for tea and we ate in.
Tomorrow; Disney Hollywood Studios and a nice grown up meal out to Californian Grill.

Sounds like a great day at Animal Kingdom, but you didn't go into Camp Mickey and Minnie. That is home to the Festival of the Lion King an awesome show and 5 greeting trails to meet different characters

You know I was looking at the map when I wrote this up and thought we missed that completely. I was always going to miss the lion king this time as I have seen the stage show 3 times and I didn't think the kids would sit through it. Will try and go back next time. We didn't do many characters, some times Cullen was keen to meet and other times he wasn't will try and do more at Disneyland. We did meet Daisy on our last day which was great but more about that in my trip report.

You will have to see the show when you go back. There is a trampoline act with the monkeys and Timon, an aerial act, a fire dancer, people on stills. It is so action packed that the kids would love it. We opted for Nemo this year instead but we are going to have to take the kids back.

We missed Camp Minnie too! No idea how!! :)
I love the pics too....especially Cullen playing drums. (why can I never remember who's older...Cullen or Seth?...I mean really! I JUST read the report)!!!!
Joshua didn't like the boneyard. It wasn't sandy. It looked sandy but it wasn't. It was small pebbles...so it hurt to crawl around on...and it was getting into his shoes. Yeah....no worries that you skipped it!!
Did the boys ride Triceratops Spin?? (aka Dumbo with Dinos)

Your memory is like mine.... how long can you claim baby brain for.
Cullen is the oldest. No they didn't ride Triceratops Spin, the line was huge, I will say there really is a distinct lack of small/short children friendly rides at the Animal Kingdom.
Glad we missed the boneyard then, Cullen had sandles on and Seth was only crawling so he would have had sore knees.

Joshua and Guy rode T.Spin over and over while B and I rode all the other rides at A.K. Then I got to ride it while Guy and B went and rode rides. :) It wasn't crowded the day we were there so they didn't even make us get off unless there were 15 people or so in line..then we'd just walk right back on. Anyway!
I agree that Animal Kingdom is lacking little kid rides. BUT the park itself is awesome! There is so much to look at there!!! And the Tree of Life! Breathtaking! Did you go to Rafiki's Planet Watch? They have lots of hands on activities back there for the little ones (and a lame petting zoo). I kept thinking why would A.K. only be open util 6..that stinks! But then when we were there...we were so done by 5:00! Then we just went back during the week to buy dinosaur shirts etc and ride Everest (lucky for us Joshua wanted to look at EVERYTHING in every store there....so we had plenty of time to take turns riding it).
I wish I would have gotten to see the girraffe on the safari though!!
