I was hoping to avoid it but it looks like we are going to change forum software again. The original forum software was decent but it was several versions behind the website software and as we all remember there was a host of issues trying to run the 2 together. The choices were limited on forum software that could be integrated with the website. I choose this software because it was open source and the hope was that I could spend time modifying it to become have the features I wanted in forum software. Unfortunately the programming time I have available is better spent on the main website and this forum software has turned out to be fairly buggy. I have decided to switch to the forum software that runs the majority of forums on the internet: VBulletin. The reason I did not use VBulletin from the start is that the main website runs Asp.Net on a windows server and VBulletin runs PHP on a linex server. That means the forums will not be on disneymouselinks.com anymore... it will have it's own domain name. That makes the integration between the website and forums a little tougher but it looks like I can make it work. I am currently writing/testing the data conversion from this forum to the new one. I hope to be ready by the end of the year. PMs did not transfer very well to this forum and it is likely I will not even attempt to bring them to the new forums. We also lost a lot of images and attachments when we moved to this forum and again I likely will not bring them over. I will update this thread as I get closer to moving.

It's getting close. By the 2nd I'll have all the posts up until today converted. All that will be left is tieing the main site and the new forums together. Sometime over the weekend the switch over will happen. For sure all PMs will be lost.... Most attachments and uploaded images will be also. Some of the user profile infomation will be lost. The new forums are much nicer.
